Description
Buy the Axel Skirt sewing pattern from Megan Nielsen. Axel is a fitted knit skirt with a range of different hem finishes. It sits at the natural waistline and features a close fit, simple construction and easily adaptable pieces.
Version 1 is a midi length skirt with a handkerchief hem. Version 2 is an above knee length skirt with hip sashes. Version 3 is a midi length skirt with a slit that can be worn in the front or back.

Suggested fabrics: Knit fabrics with at least 30% stretch. Fabrics such as ponte, scuba and neoprene will result in more structured figure-hugging garments. Knits with more stretch and drape will result in a looser flowy fit.
Fabric requirements:
Version 1: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 2 m (2 1/8 yd).
Version 2: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 1 m (1 yd) // 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 1 – 1.5 m (1 1/8 – 1 5/8 yd).
Version 3: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 1 m (1 yd) // 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 1.1 – 1.7 m (1 1/4 – 1 7/8 yd).
Sizing: XS – XL (approx. UK 8 – 16, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: Twin needle for hemming; fusible hemming tape (optional).
